The annual video gaming festival for consumers and trade specialists is held in April. In 2023, 58,000 people attended what organisers call “the world's biggest celebration of video games and interactive entertainment”.

When is the London Games Festival 2024?

The London Games Festival runs from Tuesday, April 9 to Thursday, April 25, 2024.

What will it involve?

The programme involves mobile, PC and indie games. It also celebrates newer technologies such as virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR), and the growing trend of esports.

Programming across the 16 days of the London Games Festival 2024 will be grouped around industry, talent and impact, and gameplay.

Key moments from the Industry programme include:

  • Dedicated VIP networking activities for UK and international games professionals and visiting delegations will open the festival.

  • A brand-new conference, dubbed Screen Play, looks at the renewed links between the games, film, and TV screen sectors on Wednesday, April 10.

  • Games London’s flagship Games Finance Market provides tailored introductions between developers, investors, and publishers (Thursday, April 11 and Friday, April 12).

  • A second year for the one-day London Developer Conference (daytime Thursday, April 11).

  • And the world’s most coveted accolades, the Bafta Games Awards (evening of Thursday, April 11).

The Ensemble exhibition, showcasing industry professionals from black, Asian, and underrepresented groups, is back for another year alongside the Open Studios initiative and a revival of the London Game Festival Fringe. The London Developer Conference will return for a second year on April 11.

Plus, there will be endless ways to get hands-on with new, exciting, and experimental games. Look out for:

  • LGF’s Official Selection will again highlight 30-plus innovative and original games from around the world via an online showcase, Steam festival, and in-person demos.

  • The return of Now Play This, a festival of experimental games that once again is at Somerset House, from April 6 to April 14.

  • Plus the return of W.A.S.D. to the Truman Brewery, which starts a three-day run as LGF comes to a close, from April 25-27
