The midfielder’s current deal is due to expire at the end of June and Arsenal have offered him fresh terms. The Gunners value the 32-year-old for the experience he brings to the squad and he has made 35 appearances this season.
Jorginho is understood to be settled at Arsenal, who he joined from Chelsea for £12million in January last year, but clubs in Italy are trying to tempt him back to Serie A. Juventus, Lazio and Napoli are all tracking him, however there is optimism at Arsenal that he will decide to stay with them.
That would be a boost for the club, as it would provide some continuity in midfield, with other players possibly departing this summer. The Arsenal futures of Thomas Partey, Emile Smith Rowe, Mohamed Elneny and Albert Sambi Lokonga all remain uncertain.
Partey will have just one year left on his contract at the end of the season and is attracting interest from clubs in Saudi Arabia.
The midfielder has been plagued by injuries and he has made just 11 Premier League appearances this season.
Smith Rowe is another who faces an uncertain future. The 23-year-old excelled in midfield against Luton last month as the Gunners won 2-0 and he was named man of the match.
But Smith Rowe has found chances hard to come by this season and he will not be short of interest, with West Ham keen on him in January.
Fellow midfielder Elneny’s contract is set to expire this summer and he is being tracked by clubs in Europe and Saudi Arabia.
Lokonga, who is on loan at Luton, will discuss his future with Arsenal when he returns - but he is likely to be tempted by the prospect of regular football elsewhere.
